Dyer Island View Seafront Accommodation in Kleinbaai (Gansbaai) in the Western Cape is the ideal base from which to venture forth on a variety of never-to-be-forgotten experiences. We are 160 km from Cape Town, 40 km from Hermanus, and 80 km from Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

Our area is world famous for whale watching, shark cage diving and viewing, pristine beaches, mountains and fynbos (Cape floral kingdom) with abundant bird life (bird watching paradise). Numerous shipwrecks dating as far back as the 1600’s and including the world famous HMS Birckenhead (Danger Point, 1852) are found in this area. On the mainland at Stony Point, less than an hour from Kleinbaai, there is another penguin colony with a walkway between the nesting birds.

Closer to home, Annetjie Krugel has excellent knowledge of the variety of sea life in the rock pools in front of the house, which she gladly shares with our guests.
Our great personal friend Andre Hartman (www.andrehartman.com) is world famous for his intimate knowledge of the Great White Shark. He is one of the first to free dive with these magnificent creatures. We will gladly arrange bookings for shark cage diving and whale watching or all-inclusive expeditions for you if desired.
But there are also hiking trails around Kleinbaai, a 9-hole golf course, swimming beaches, wineries, a beer brewery, shopping centre and restaurants, and the view over the ocean from your room is magnificent...
